Throughout February, WIT partners have been celebrating Black History Month in exciting and innovative ways.
The Buffalo Bills started things off with a Black-Owned Business Gift Card Giveaway Scratch-N-Win, honoring the month and spotlighting community businesses to increase local awareness and sales.
The New York Liberty and Washington Wizards (presented by Capital One) each launched engaging neighborhood Scavenger Hunts encouraging fans to explore their areas with the chance to win game tickets, autographed prizes, and more.
The Wizards also didn’t miss a beat bringing back their highly-anticipated HBCU Battle of the DJs (presented by Stackwell) for the third year in a row, creating an electric atmosphere and crowning DJ Foqus from Coppin State University as this year’s champion! The Wiz also hosted a Spirit Spotlight Fan Wall inviting participants to share photos for a chance to be featured on the big screen in a custom frame during the HBCU & D9 Night game.
The Washington Capitals rounded out the D.C. fun with a Howard Basketball Black History Prize Wheel (presented by Giant) to give out Black History-themed gear, signed merchandise, and other exclusive prizes.
Additionally, the Chicago Sky unveiled a heartwarming Fan Wall for young supporters to submit artwork on what Black History Month means to them for the chance to win a prize pack and have their creativity showcased on Sky social media.
