The WIT team assembled on Saturday, December 7th in Jersey City from all across North America. WIT employees flew in from Arizona, British Columbia, California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, North Carolina, Texas, and Washington D.C. while the locals commuted from neighboring New York and New Jersey. The highly-anticipated second annual WIT Summit was finally here!
The Summit officially began with a full company dinner on Saturday night, giving nationwide coworkers an opportunity to reconnect in person and meet some new friendly faces for the first time.
Sunday morning kicked off with a trip to MetLife Stadium to see the New York Giants take on the Saints from a sweet suite! The team received ‘100th Anniversary Season’ collectible bobbleheads, took photos with Giants legends, and made in-person connections with some of our fantastic Giants partners during the game.
It was truly a ‘suite’ experience for Team WIT, several members of which had never been to an NFL game before, much less in a suite! It was a wonderful way to bring the team together and share a bonding experience. Huge shoutout to the Giants for the generous hospitality!
On Monday morning, the WIT team (which has grown immensely over the last year) got down to business together, starting with personal presentations and a talk through the company history. Personal presentations covered all the bases, with photos and stories from travel adventures, sports allegiances, loyal pets, and exciting hobbies. The diversity of talent on the WIT team is mind-blowing!
Vaidhy then led a session on the history of WIT’s transformation and growth from napkin notes to present-day powerhouse, followed by a group talk on company culture and evolution in 2025 and beyond. The morning concluded with Vaidhy, Stephi, and Holden handing out personalized awards highlighting individual strengths and accomplishments to every member of their teams. Each award was delivered with a meaningful speech (and occasional tears) including several via Google Meet for members of the team that couldn’t attend this year in person.
After a nice lunch from a local deli, several team members braved the rain (and public transportation) to embark on a shopping adventure at the Bryant Park holiday market. With warm beverages, funny finds, and sweet gifts for loved ones, the market did not disappoint.
…and the night was just getting started! The Bryant Park troupe then met up with the rest of Team WIT at Rockefeller Center, and not just to enjoy the view. Skates were strapped on and WIT hit the ice below the iconic Rockefeller Christmas Tree, holding each other up for team photos and even learning a few new tricks.
After pirouetting (or staggering) off the rink, the company split into departments to enjoy dinner outings in smaller coworker groups. The Sales and Engineering teams enjoyed some classic pub food while the Marketing and Service teams devoured burgers and incredible NYC gelato.
Tuesday morning started early for the ‘Women of WIT’ ERG with a group breakfast meeting at Gia Cafe & Gelato, a local WOB (woman-owned business). While they enjoyed coffees, bagels, and face-to-face time with fellow members, they also got to meet the woman in charge, Gia herself!
Tuesday’s group sessions kicked off with some delightful bakery favorites brought in by Stephi from around New York for all to enjoy. Vaidhy led several extremely informative sessions on startups, the WIT backend, and digital technology overall, including a recap of last year’s bombshell reveal that the transcontinental internet runs through undersea cables. 🤯
After a short break to enjoy more scrumptious East Coast bagels, the team headed out to Newark for a New Jersey Devils hockey game. WIT activations were promoted on the jumbotron throughout the game, and the team was thrilled to see and connect with fans playing live in the arena! Talking to participants in person and seeing the joy WIT’s digital activations brought them was the cherry on top of the summit sundae.
Team WIT also got to connect with some familiar faces during the game (shoutout to Ned Luke!) before taking center ice for a group photo. A huge thank you to the Devils for this incredible experience!
…and with that, the second WIT Summit was complete! It was a whirlwind couple of days in New York and New Jersey, and we had an incredible time closing out the year together.
Discussions planning next year’s (even bigger and better) trip have already begun… Where should WIT go next? 🤔
