WIT was all about the ☀️ and 🔥 two weeks ago in South Florida.
Founder and CEO Vaidhy Murti traveled to Miami for some Miami Open tennis action and a day with WIT partners, the Miami HEAT.
Vaidhy got to witness Andy Murray’s epic, and ultimately heartbreaking, three-set loss to Tomas Machac in the round of 32. Murray had trailed 5-2 in the third set, before he came all the way back to force a tie break. But he rolled his left ankle in a pivotal moment and Machac went on to win the nearly four-hour match which also featured a Florida rain delay.
On Tuesday, Vaidhy made it down to the Kaseya Center in the heart of Miami to visit with some of the great folks from the HEAT.
HEAT marketing leaders Jalen Carter, Danny Gallegos and Cassidy Ricci have big plans for their WIT activations in 2024 after the team rolled out some fantastic campaigns last year, including an incredible HEAT jersey bracket.
Vaidhy toured the facilities, went on the court and checked out the HEAT’s Bacardi Ocho lounge with perfect views of the entire arena.
The tour ended with a trip to the team store for a Jimmy Butler Court Culture tee.
Tuesday night added yet another sweet NBA touch as Vaidhy ran into the Warriors’ Klay Thompson and Steve Kerr at his same hotel before their game with the Heat (Klay went on to score 28 for Golden State that night).
On Thursday, Vaidhy traveled back to the Miami Open tennis tournament for a lunch meeting with members of the Miami Dolphins.
He also got to see Indian tennis star Rohan Bopanna in his doubles match with Leander Paes. After their big win, Vaidhy got the autographed ball that Bopanna threw into the stands.
All in all, Vaidhy had quite the visit to the city where the heat is on. Welcome to Miami.
